This is one of my favorite pics from my last trip to Disney World. The Christmas decorations look great and it's a great time of year to be in the Parks. The weather is usually really nice and there are even some hot days. I avoid the Disney Park crowds between Christmas and Easter, spending that week at the beach instead, but the first week of January is excellent.

The early weeks in December are fairly light on crowds and you can enjoy the decorations, so that's a good time to go. If you wait until after New Year's though, Disney World cast members may have pulled down everything before you get a chance to see it. They are fast! They start removing the Christmas decor on January 2nd and a few days later it will be all gone. Osborne Lights now runs a little bit longer --- until about January 7th, but that's about it.

If I'd taken this photo from a few hundred feet back, you would see all the Christmas decorations. This is the first time I've actually noticed that there aren't any decorations in this shot. I'll post up a Christmas decoration pic with the Castle tomorrow.

I took this photo a couple of years ago, 2006 I believe. I always really liked the Wand added to Spaceship Earth, but sadly Disney World has seen fit to remove it. I think this pic came out pretty well considering I didn't have a tripod at the time.

I thought I would share the full image from which my icon comes from. It's Chip at Chef Mickey's! I love this pic. You can almost forget for a moment that it's just a person under that big head.

This was taken on a trip to Chef Mickey's with my niece a couple of years ago. We got to Chef Mickey's, one of the Disney World character meal restaurants, right between the lunchtime rush and the start of dinnertime so it was pretty quiet in the restaurant and we got a lot of attention from the characters. Here, Chip is hiding from us at the table next to us.
